Gear Reimbursement Grant

Ends on

The Gear Reimbursement Grant (GRG) aids residents of APICDA CDQ member communities who participate in commercial fisheries and/or subsistence harvesting activities. The goal of the program is to assist residents in obtaining new and efficient gear to maximize their harvest efforts by providing financial assistance in the form of reimbursement for a portion of the incurred costs. APICDA will reimburse 50% of the total qualified purchase(s) for commercial fishing and subsistence gear expenses.

Residents may submit one initial application with multiple reimbursement requests throughout the application period to meet the commercial fishing and/or subsistence grant maximums.

If you have expenses for both subsistence gear and commercial gear, you can apply for both under ONE application, and submit multiple reimbursement requests until you have reached the maximum reimbursement amount for both.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Resident of Akutan, Atka, False Pass, Nelson Lagoon, Nikolski, or St. George
  • Age 18 or older and physically able to participate in subsistence and/or commercial fisheries
  • Submit a complete application with all required items during the application period (March 1 - December 1)
